where are we?

hey there, as you can see our blog has been a little empty lately and quite behind with postings. well, part of the reason is that we are busy keeping up with and updating our main business SidebySide Cinema and of course preparing for the holidays. we have also been working on our house enjoying our dog. we have been restructuring our business a little and are going to continue to focus mainly on our cinema business while keeping SidebySide Photography as a hobby and personal blog. we will continue to post the shoots we have done this year but will only be taking on future clients as time allows. so please enjoy our love for photography and visit often and i promise we’ll be better about posting our work.

Erin & Christian – The Wedding – San Diego Wedding Photography

What a great afternoon garden wedding at Hacienda de Vega in Escondido. Christian’s family and friends traveled from Panama and Erin’s came from Colorado for their lovely ceremony. Loved the afternoon light peeking through the trees during the dances.

favorite things – part 10

well, i don’t really know how to sum it up in one word exactly.. one of my favorite things is just being around people who are in a community, not necessarily my community (though i love that as well) but being a part of a group of people or even one person, in their life, even for a moment. like when we had our ‘major big news power outage of san diego 2011’ [so dramatic] it was so fun for me to go out the next day, everyone was talking about it, people at the grocery store, gym and post office. it was so fun, just for that brief instant, to be connected to people to whom i wouldn’t have otherwise said two words. when we went to ireland a few years ago we found a small town named doolin. it was our favorite place to see during our adventure. a tiny coastal town easily traversed in an afternoon. the best part about places like that is the opportunity to discover things typically overlooked. we wandered, we chatted, we found this pub with some local musicians playing and inspiring. a snapshot into their lives, on the other side of the world.

IMatrix – Ribbon Cutting – San Diego Photography

Yamia and Asaf’s business has grown and because of that they’ve had to move into a new building! Yamia, with her lovely interior design skills, made the place beautiful and also decorated for the event. They had an early morning ribbon cutting with some speeches and then all the employees got to see the new space they’d be working in for the first time.
